An informed community is a functional community. But can a community still be functional when they’re temporarily not living together in their community? They sure can. We’ve witnessed it.

When a major electrical fire caused the evacuation of residents from 80 apartments in Sydney’s lower north shore for almost a week, the inconvenience of temporary accommodation would surely be enough to make the most patient person gruff.

But not in this apartment block. Residents were resilient and grateful for the daily news updates they received from their strata management and chairman.

When power was restored six days later, residents were able to move back in to their home.

Sometimes it takes an inconvenience to truly test how we respond to emergencies.

In this scenario, the support the community received from the committee and strata management was exceptional, as you would expect from a reputable company.

That strata management company was STM – Strata Title Management.

“We were sending out daily newsletters to all owners and tenants so the lines of communication were very good. Sarah and Brendan gave excellent support throughout this emergency situation.” Chairman, Garry S.
